A Service of Remembrance will be held Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson for Elsie Irene Hutchison, 98, of Jefferson.
Words of comfort will be offered by the Rev Timothy A. Jones, pastor of the church. Organist will be Mark Erickson. Honorary casket bearer will be her grandson Chris Milligan.
Casket bearers will be Troy Scheuermann, Dick Henson, Rick Ostendorf, Dennis Scheuerman, Barry Smith and Alan Eggers. Interment will be in the Jefferson Municipal Cemetery.
The family is assisted by Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home of Jefferson.
Elsie Irene Scheuermann Hutchison was born January 7, 1917, in Greene County. She was the youngest of 10 children born to Fredrick and Katherine Noller Scheuermann. Elsie attended Greenbrier grade school #6, and graduated from Cooper High School in 1935.
On October 24, 1945, Elsie married Donald W. Hutchison at the Christian Church parsonage. She and Don farmed in Greenbrier Township, north of Bagley. In 1984, they retired and moved to Jefferson.
Elise was a life-long resident of Greene County, a homemaker, and a 4-H leader. She loved gardening and raising flowers. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson.
Elsie Hutchison died Sept. 18, 2015, at the Greene County Medical Center long term care unit. She was 98 years of age. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Don, who died in 1994; her brothers Frank, George, Fred, Albert, Walter, Roy and Clarence; and her sisters,Marie Henson, and Katherine, who died in infancy.
Survivors include daughter Kathy (John) Milligan of Jefferson, grandson Chris (Amy) Milligan of Jefferson, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
